Will Lithium be effective in treating my Bipolar 2 Disorder?

Hi everyone.How are you today?I hope you are well. Anyway i am 23 years old and live in Glasgow,Scotland.I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder after two major depressive episodes and one hypomanic episode.The pdoc put me on 800mg of Lithium.Will this drug be effective in treating my Bipolar 2 Disorder?Thanks for your time.
