Did the psychiatrist mean i have bipolar 2?

Hi. I am 24 years old and live in Glasgow. A few months ago i was in hospital with major depression. However about a month ago i had a hypomanic episode. I went to see my psychiatrist yesterday for diagnosis.She put me on a mood stabiliser and i asked her do i have bipolar disorder and she said "yes,but the less severe form".She never said what type it was.Did she mean i have Bipolar 2?Thanks
